What are "Year Cards," and why would you want to know?

The Year Cards are filing cards (203mm x 127mm) which were used at Woolverstone Hall to record a surprisingly large amount of personal information on each pupil. The cards usually show, on one side, personal details such as birthdate, primary school attended, dates and house(s) at WH, and also academic grades and height and weight of the pupil! On the reverse side of the card is a brief assessment of the pupil for each year of attendance at WH, and also O Level and A Level subjects and grades. The amount of information does vary according to when they were completed - during the mid-fifties, there are few if any assessment comments, whereas during the sixties, the cards are more complete.

You will no doubt be interested to have this little item of personal information "returned" to you for your safekeeping! AND you can now have this done as Ian Thompson is currently holding all the remaining cards (currently stands at 1,832, with 3 awaiting despatch!) and is willing to send your Year Card to you on request.

As Ian does not have ALL the Year Cards (there are no Year Cards for those whose first year was, or would have been, 1980/81 or afterwards), please e-mail him at one of the addresses shown below to confirm that he has your card first. Please do not forget to state clearly your name, house and years at WH so that there is no mistake with the card! He will then make arrangements for the despatch of your card.

Thank you.
