Hullo again Tony,
I found this photo in one of our albums,it may be of interest.Mr Johnston is the umpire. On the extreme left is a master who I recognise but can't name.
Interesting. Seems to conjure up more questions than anything else. Where would this have been? Looks like possibly Church Field, under that large old tree that was later felled by lightning. Was it 1956 or 57? Anyway of knowing? Does anyone know? Who's the man with the cap and the camera right in the centre of the photo? This seems to me to be quite a different sports day from what I experienced from 1962 onwards. I don't remember ever having a tug-of-war -- maybe my memory is fading?? If you have any thoughts about this photograph, please send me (Tony Boys) e-mail and I will be happy to add them to this page. Thank you. And thanks again for sending in the photo, Ray.
If it helps...the figure on the left is the German Master who married the Sickbay Sister of the time... although I, also, can't remember his name. He replaced Rowlands? Does that help anyone name him? The flatcap is "Sandy" Hanson.
Thanks, Alan. Any other info....?
